Red Sox want to talk extension with Varitek
According to the Providence Journal's Sean McAdam, the Red Sox want to talk to Jason Varitek about a contract extension something between the end of the winter meetings and the start of spring training. The 35-year-old Varitek is entering the final season of a four-year, $40 million contract.
