A 28-year-old outfielder who spent his first seven professional seasons in the Indians’ organization, Jonathan Van Every was signed by the Red Sox as a minor league free agent in December and added to the 40-man roster. A left-handed hitter, Van Every hit a combined .307 with 12 home runs and a .916 OPS between Double-A Akron and Triple-A Buffalo last season. He is expected to begin the 2008 season as the starting centerfielder in Pawtucket.

Iv'e got a pretty good feeling about this move and I think that in like the middle of this year or next year he will get called up and do pretty well. Just wanted some opinions thanks.

only way he gets called up is if Coco or Ellsbury is traded or if there is injuries to JD or Manny or even Brandon Moss.  Moss would be called up before him.

It would just be nice to have someone to play for JD Drew when he has his anual collapse in the middle of the season and ellsbry WILL start this season

Yes we over paid for JD Drew but hes def an upgrade of Trot Nixon (who i still wish was a red sox).    JD was clutch in the playoffs and he deserves to start in right the entire season.  He had all those family problems last year and he still played well.
